Rocco Meets The Mighty Nissan GTR

If you hadn`t already noticed, I just adore white cars..All my favourite ones (and half decent ones) have been white.. so you can imagine my minor thrill when we ran across a white Nissan GTR on our travels..and yes, you guessed it, these photos were also taken in a pub car park! albiet a different one to our normal haunt.

I had a good chat with the driver of this GTR.. a really nice guy.. He was out in the countryside with his wife and two very young daughters enjoying the day.. I had to hold back a question or two as he strapped the kids into the back seats tho !!

He said he had modded his GTR up too.. 0-60 in about 2.5 secs.. and had the BHP tweaked up to a 1000 horses ! bet the kiddies loved that.. No need for them to go to a theme park then ;-)

Here is another pic from the meet:

There`s a funny true story attached to this accidental meet too.. As you could guess, these two cars next to each other somewhat stole the parking space show.. There were a group of Italian students around, enjoying the local scenery, and when they turned their attention to the cars, there was much chatter and pointing. The upshot of it is that one young woman walked up to the back of the Roc (not the GTR), to see what it was ! Obviously she had spotted the VW badge, but didn`t recognise that it was a Roc.. I found that a tad more than interesting.. Not the first time I`ve had someone looking on the back of the car for a clue either as it goes..

Still, the GTR was a wonderful sight to see and not only is it in the fantasy garage, but it may well be on the shopping list. Right next to the Audi R8.

Here it is pride of place in the pic:

The Rocco Meets The Evoke

Yet another pub car park picture, and believe me, there will be loads more pub car park pics to come.. My favourite hunting ground ha..

Thought I`d go for a front on shot for this as however much I love the Evoke I cannot get over those ridiculous "Dumbo" ears.. or wing mirrors as they more commonly called. If they weren`t as bad as they are I would seriously consider buying an Evoke, but until they change em, it`s not for me.. just yet. Great styling otherwise on the Evoke and next to the Roc front on, it looks well, but still I think the Roc wins this round.. Similar costs on both vehicles I believe too.

Still, grudgingly, I`ll add the Evoke to the fantasy garage.

Here`s another pic that shows the best of both the vehicles` lines:

Rocco Spies On The Megane RS

An interesting tale to accompany this picture.. The yellow car you may recognize as a Renault Megane RS.. Not really a bad looking motor at all, but just look how well the Roc looks in comparison!

Oh yeah, the story.. I`d just jet-washed the Roc to get all the grit and stuff off before going and giving it a proper wash and got a few admiring glances as I drove out of the jet wash which I wasn`t really expecting.. which in turn put that little bit of devilment in me.. (blame the car, not me) haha..

So what did I do for kicks to get that inner smile out? I drove straight in the the local Renault dealership for a laugh.. The Renault boys faces were a picture as I jetted down there entrance at a measly 5 miles per hour for all to see. You could tell they loved the Roc.. and hated it too. Then I found the RS parked up round the back and took a sneaky pic.

A few months later and I hear news of a Megane 265 !! Coincidence? Probably, but you could well imagine the company emails going round Renault that day.. Especially if you have an imagination like mine..

When The Rocco Met The Alfa

Here is what I think is a great picture. I love the contrast between the new and the old. Not exactly sure of the model of this old Alfa, but when we accidentally on purpose parked up next to it, again in a pub car park, the camera had to be taken out and a snapshot was taken. And from a mere camera-phone too, as all these pictures were.. For the trainspotters out there all we used was a box standard Samsung Galaxy S2..

After a little chat with the owner, an odd-ish fellow as I`d politely describe him, it seems this red little beauty was worth roughly the same as the Roc ! So, which would you prefer? Either way, the Alfa would have to go in what we fondly call the "Fantasy Garage". More on that scenario later on down the life of this blog..

My Scirocco R

Welcome along to my new blog ! Glad you found this page.. and hope you like what is to come..
Slowly but surely, this blog will grow and the star of the show is "The Rocco" !
Enjoy :-)

This first picture was taken in a pub car park, just before lunch, straight after a scrub and polish, sometime in the summer of 2011, and just before we set off for a little jaunt in the countryside to go kill some flies and get them stuck all over the front end.
